Who is the first person that you meet when you awake?
Is it the reflection that you encounter from the mirror in the bathroom?
What do you see in the reflection ?
Whether you washed your face?
Whether your hair is combed ?
Whether your shirt is properly adjusted?
I am surprised by the number of people that respond to my question with, “I don’t look at the mirror” “I don’t want to see myself.”
Perhaps the person is afraid of seeing the 2nd mirror. The 2nd mirror is from the funny house at the amusement park. The mirror with multiple mirrors, all distorted. They are cut and polished in such a way as to distort every element which it reflects,
These mirror elements reflect all the distorted feedback from conception to adolescence.
They see every distortion which Is not a reflection of their true essence.
They never get to see beyond the surface reflection … beyond the distortions that were feed to them by significant people in their life, They only see the pain of feeling inadequate … defective.
As humans we are one of the few species that are not capable of functioning independently from birth. Many in the animal kingdom can walk and feed somewhat independently.
I would suggest that from conception we are feeling entities. We feel and respond to stimulus.
In our mothers womb, we feel the feelings that the mother is experiencing.
Once out of the womb, we need to be fed. We need warmth and affection. As we get older we need guidance as to how to interface with what seems to be a chaotic and crazy world.
Once we are fed with negative emotional energy, we are in a bind. From birth to school age, we may experience the chaos of the adults in our life. Worse we tend to see ourselves as the cause of the problems our parents are dealing with.
Not being given warmth and affection, not being given guidance, the distorted mirror elements are being formed within the new self.
The person enters school, work, relationships severally handicapped. These handicaps make it difficult to explore the third mirror.
Initially the third mirror is not clear. It appears as a flow of colors and shapes. In order to see - experience the third mirror, a person must prepare for the viewing. If a person doesn’t prepare, they are blocked by a wall of anxiety / fear. In preparing for the vision of the third mirror, anxiety and fear are replaced by faith, I.e. the belief that they are valuable. The Belief that the person brings something special to the world, to their relationships.
How does one prepare to see the third mirror.
First step is to be conscious of our breath. In the physical realm, breath sets the stage for seeing the third mirror. Once you consciously focus on the rhythm of your breath, the next step is to be receptive to what the third mirror reveals.
The Third mirror does not reveal defects, inadequacies.
It reveals the essence of who we are.
It opens the potential for our creative spirit to create our path. It reveals our purpose.
The seed to our essence, our purpose opens and invites us to explore and be active with our strengths.
The role of a psychotherapist (Soul healer) is to enable a person to move past the first and second mirrors. To enter the quiet space of the breath. To recut and polish the mirrors to enable a person to see and work with the third mirror; To begin to see their talent and purpose; To experience joy and happiness.
It is thru the third mirror that we begin to unite with our essence and our part in the universe.
