Christmas ... a few thoughts

What is Christmas? Is it for Christians?

We are two weeks from Christmas day ... what is the real story behind this God-man who we celebrate on the 25th?

It is a celebration of a man who was a non-Christian. Jesus was a Jew.  It could be said that he was not an ordinary Jew. He was a mystic. He made it clear that each of us had a direct intimate connection with Yahweh (“I Am, Who Am”) (Source energy). His message was clear; our mission was to be one with “I Am, Who Am”, i.e. to have a direct connection with God who is our source. That direct connections involves positive relationships and an acknowledgement of our connection with each other. He summoned us to enjoy the beauty of our world. He tried to tell us to live fully, to love fully. Our first mission is to love ourselves not in a narcissistic ego dominated controlling manner but in caring way. The second part of the mission was to love others as we love ourselves. The promise of a kingdom was not ownership of the holy sites, of property. Jesus’ message did not include the self-centeredness of peoples Ego’s and their need to control other people. Ego and control issues are a distraction.

His message is as true today as it was in his time. Looking at today’s world, whether from a religion perspective, or from the disconnected fringe perspective, are we missing the point of this God-man Jesus?

The ego and desire for control exhibited by world leaders have not changed since Jesus’ call to spirit. He built relationships with the people who are open to spirit. His call was to all human beings. The pettiness of ego’s and control issues of high profile politicians have not changed since the high priests (the leaders and the people with control issues at that point in history) incited the crowds to crucify Jesus for daring to call us to a spirit connection, to  love, to happiness, to sharing.

I wish all my readers, a happy Jesus day when we might meditate on his true message.
