Does the rat race drive your boat?

Competition ~ production

Lately I have heard a lot of discussion about chasing the money – there have been articles about burn out. In the past they labeled the advancement to burn out as participating in the rat race.

Does competition ~ production ~ piece work drive your boat?

When I ask a client or a friend to use breathing as a tool to relax or refocus, the response is, "I don’t have time. Don’t have time to deliberately consciously breathe … interesting.

It becomes totally imposible for the person if I add the suggestion that after 6 deep breathes they should spend 10 to 30 min "being". The only activity during the quiet is to be receptive … accepting. Being receptive invites a person to listen to their inner voices … the voice of their personal essence. They look at me in puzzled stare when I tell them there is another voice. The 2nd voice, is the voice of the Creative Source of the universe. I am not suggesting that the person have a schizophrenic episode.

The voices are real. The voice of the Creative Source does not need an intermediator as taught by many religions. The voices are always present. They can not be heard when a person is listening to a marching band , i.e. chasing the money, burning out.

I read an article on the BBC implying that mindfulness can be a misleading concept. The author divorced mindfulness from the voice of the creative source. When we split the internal voices and deny the existence of the creative source it is an illusory  moment. Without both voices, it is an exercise in narcissistic ignorance.
