My graduate school professor in the 1970’s made an interesting observation. He indicated that physics was changing its focus.
The hard science of physics was moving beyond numbers.
It was moving beyond the machine based Newtonian physics to a reality
that was beyond measurement
beyond the skeletal outline of the physical.
It moved beyond the concrete
intellectually abstract world of numbers
to experiential creating.
It moved to the level of
vibrational attraction and creating.

The esteemed science of physics entered the Quantum world.
Unfortunately, the social sciences were moving in the other direction. Instead of being person centered, social sciences was moving to measuring, justifying, intellectually codifying a person’s behavior.
It seemed mental health and addiction services were more interested in changing a person’s behavior by giving medication in order to change the person’s bio-chemistry.
It seemed that they were more interested in physical “evidence” of behavioral change. Humans were looked at as machines
that would act on a “cause and effect” basis.
It seems they encouraged people to give up the responsibility of creating their life style and
giving it to "qualified professionals"
who would take responsibility

In order to enter this world of quantum possibilities,
it is essential to find time to be alone –
to breathe and be still.
Being still allows us to quiet all the noise
that constantly bombards us.
It allows us to move away from
the Ego-ideal of Freud,i.e. wanting to be validated by society, by what our peer group wants us to be.

It facilitates our connection with our intimate self, with Source energy, and with our fellow creatures.
Instead of seeking an endless regression or a cognitive behavioral evidenced based form of therapy, the quantum approach seems to be more growth oriented, individualized,
and allows people to create their own path.
It allows the individual to choose to grow or not.
As a therapist,
I moved east in terms of my learning and looking at my experience.
Through reading and my experience, I saw the value of the wisdom of the balance of
the yin and yang energies.
I began to appreciate and apply the insights from the quantum perspective.
I began to visualize that all ailments were not created as a disfunction of the cells.
All ailments physical or psychological begin
as a disturbance in the soul, in the person’s spirit.

I see the therapist in the way the ancient Greeks saw “psycho-therapy.” According to the ancient Greeks psycho referred to the soul. Therapy referred to healing. So it seems from the perspective of the ancient Greeks, physical or emotional ailments stem from the imbalance within the soul.
