6 Deep Breathes [1/3}

Six deep breathes

(my musings on the miracle of the breathe and listening)

{1 / 3 entries}

I read a post that said that scientists have found 6 deep breaths can relax the body and the mind.

I have found

 that six deep breathes do relax both the mind and the body.

Clients come into my office with varying signs of emotional agitation, including, anxiety, fear, a feeling of being overwhelmed; yet an exercise of six deep breathes helps them feel calmer, less agitated.

I instruct the client to breath slowly, deeply.

Breath in through the nose, hold the breath for a moment, and release through their mouth.

I instruct the person to focus on the rhythm of the breath flowing in and out of their lungs.

The breath is the beginning – the entrance to a state of mindfulness. Mindfulness connects them with their inner Self, their Spirit and the Creative Source of the Universe.

The six breathes prepares the person to see or experience that which is beyond the 5 senses. A person moves from the physical, logical dimensions of the six senses to a non-physical sense of self. They begin to move toward a vibrational sense of being, a sense of spirit. A person has an intimate encounter with the essence of their self.
