Mindfulness v. the Ego paradigm which is the key to Self

Dr. Joe Dispenza, in his book,  Breaking the habit of being yourself," indicated that being “… fully engaged in the flow … the environment, the body and time all seem immaterial …. ”  Being fully engaged, mindful, is necessary to be in a state of full positive consciousness.
Dr. Dispenza and I believe
that mindfulness and being fully engaged  is the entrance to the Quantum field of energy possibilities.
The self-absorbed ego needs to be left behind. I have long believed the ego as described by Freud is not the benign negotiator that mediates between our desire to be happy and the need to blend in with our peers. I believe Freud’s ego paradigm separates us from who we truly are. It dulls our desires and seeks to blend us in to a politically polite society.
Being fully conscious allows the centered self to emerge.

"When I suggested in my psychology class that perhaps the ego is the problem and needs to be eliminated, One student asked, "if we eliminate the ego, don't we eliminate the self?" My response was “Perhaps eliminating the Freudian concept of Ego, id, and superego formulation will allow the self to move from the Freudian (cerebral-Biological-sexual-needs driven) Box into the consciousness of the self and the consciousness of positive relationship, into mindfulness.” The focus would be on the quality of vibrational exchange and positive development of the self, not on the reflection of what others thought about us." (Excerp from my book that will be published later this year )
