We both had our cameras.
Sitting on the terrace of the restaurant with what normally is a gorgeous view of Manhattan, we sat enjoying the breeze and refreshments.
The sky was pale blue, not a cloud in sight.
The sky line of the city was bland, the light was flat … hazy.
Not a good time for photos.
Despite many other things we had to do, we decided to wait.
We enjoyed our conversation, refreshments and people watching.
The weather was great (light breeze – not too warm)
so there were many people on the patio.
As the sun went down, a second miracle happened,
The clouds appeared.
Not only did they appear but they were spectacular.
The clouds became more impressive as the sun continued its journey to the other side of the planet. It is probably more correct to say we were moving so the other side of the planet could see the sun.
We finished our refreshments, and
headed to the upper observation deck of the dock.
On the upper deck we continued to watch the cloud ~ Sun spectacular performance. I helped my friend untangle the photo dynamics of ISO, aperture, and shutter speed, back button focus.
We started taking pictures of the sun~cloud performance
It was truly a beautiful sight.
On the ferry ride back to the city, I helped my friend get her first quality photos of the city skyline balancing the photo dynamics that we had discussed earlier.
Did the title say “a Miracle” hum that’s not what happened
During the afternoon ~ evening journey, four miracles unfolded
~ the conversation with the Miracle man
~ The clouds appearing out of a bland sky
~ a gorgeous sunset
~ The joy on the face of my friend that she was able to capture the city skyline at night and get a great photo of the skyline
