Sunday, the 15th was a
glorious day ...
Decades ago, I emerged on
this planet.
I am blessed
Sunday, My Son & I
celebrated my birth.
After a delicious breakfast
of Chocolate covered juicy Strawberries,
We headed into the city.
Once in the city,
We headed to the Highline
With others we took a stroll
along the Line
Stopping to take some photos
of gems that caught our eye.
Many people from all over
were there enjoying the beauty
of this oasis in the city.
'bout noon, we were getting
hungry
little did we know what our
hunger would lead us to ...
Could you guess?
Artichoke Pizza of course
AP had an interesting menu
you could order pizza by
thirds
To sample their ware we
ordered 3 thirds
each with a different
topping
By means of Fuzzy math and
possibly other
wizardry
the 3 thirds did not equal 1
pie
3 1/3 of AP's count = 1 1/2
huge pie
loaded with toppings of
course
The best?
I am glad you asked.
The best was of course the
Artichoke Pie !!!
It's dough wasn't Neapolitan
- No ...
the dough wan't Sicilian -
No ...
It was definitely Genoase -
light -
just right dash of salt
flavor
with olive oil rounding out
the flavor base
The artichokes completed the
culinary delight.
We washed it down with ...
artichoke beer ...
Unique for sure.
The meal was delicious
the atmosphere and service
was good.
The meal did however,
present a problem.
9 slices faced us after we
had eaten our fill
What to do?
Thomas requested 3 small
pizza boxes
The server was at first
puzzled
Until we told him we were
going on a search
For 3 hungry people
The server quickly returned
with 3 small pizza boxes
each packed with 3 slices
We walked about 1/2 mi to St
Francis of Assisi
in search of hungry people.
The first a man in a wheel
chair
the Second a man looking
through the garbage
the third a man propped up
by a wall down the block
from St Francis of Assisi
Each was grateful for the
gift
Just after passing St
Francis
shocked my son
suggesting we walk
to the SI
Ferry
Recovering from the Shock
Thomas and I headed due
South
South 3.5 miles (5.6 klicks)
that is
On the Ferry, we headed to
SI
Taking photos along the way.
Back to Manhattan
later in
the day.
The sky was giving a
performance
Clouds constantly changing their coloring and shape
down to the park by the
ferry Thomas and I watched the sun
set
took more photos of the
sky's performance
Thank you Thomas
for a great
day of adventure
Thank you God for all
that
we experienced
the dark chocolate
drenched
strawberries
the Artichoke pie
the gift giving
the long walk to the Ferry
the dazzling entertainment
performed
by
the sun, and the clouds
What a day to celebrate
decades on the planet
What a day to inspire us to
create our next adventures
