The Inner Voice(s)
The Inner voice(s)
When I present,
teach or offer a consultation to a person, I talk to the person/audience about
connecting with their inner voice(s).
People are
interested in the “inner voices” – they ask questions about it. What is it?
Will I hear a voice talking? Will the Devil take over my inner voice? You mean
I have more than one inner voice? How do you connect with the inner voice?
Let us return to
the fundamental question – what are the inner voices?
The Internal Voices and positive energy
The inner voices
are two voices that are actually tightly integrated in our-self.
From a physical
word perspective they can be described as if they are two voices.
From a spirit or
experience perspective they are a paradox, that is, they are one voice with two
distinct dimensions. The first dimension is a spiritual energy that makes up
our essence that in a sense gives us our individuality, our perspective, our
purpose. The second dimension is also a spiritual energy - the voice or energy
field of Source Energy (frequently called by many names – God – Allah – Buddha
and many others)
The important
element of our inner voice is that it is who we are. It is our consciousness,
our thought center, our feeling center and our creative center. It is the place
where our desires are seated/centered. The beauty of hearing our inner voice is
that it will always keep us connected with Source Energy however we can
understand our relation to God. It will always assist us in pursuing our
purpose/path. It will also help us operate from a good feeling place. It will
guide us to people who are also centered and seeking to pursue their path. It
will guide us away from people who fragmented from their purpose or who wish to
be mediocre or people who wish to harm us. It will always guide us to that which
is good for us. It will always guide us to expand ourselves, our desires and
the universe.
Negative Elements and the internal voice
It will never allow
Satan or evil to control us. Satan or evil thoughts or actions can only come
into our inner voice by invitation by choosing to allow them space in our inner
voice. They can also come in because we have allowed the noise of patterns that
we have learned to fragment our inner voice. Frequently they are thoughts
centered on Ego (self-centered importance)
& its perceived vulnerabilities or need to prove itself in control
or in the “right.” It is easy to recognize these negative energy voices because
they are always competing, comparing, justifying, diminishing our self,
diminishing others in order to create a special place for us.
Creating Space for the inner voice(s) (Meditation)
How do we create
space for the positive influence of our internal voices?
1) Find a place where you can be comfortable
and quiet.
2) Sit in a comfortable position.
3) Turn off all distractions, e.g. radio,
television, music players, computer, cell phone.
4) Set aside time – could be 5 minutes, 15
minutes (if you are comfortable with 15 min. – at the beginning try 5 min.) or
even 2 minutes, if you are squeezed for time.
5) Eyes – slightly closed –
a. You could focus on an object if you wish
(like the flame of a candle)
6) Breathe deeply
a. Inhale deeply for 6 seconds
b. Exhale deeply for 6 seconds
c. Focus on the rhythm of your breath
7) Focusing on breathing will help create a
quiet space for you – will calm down your mind and help you to think more
clearly when you resume your activities.
8) Thoughts
a. If they are distracting, i.e. thoughts about
things that are pressuring you, invite the thoughts to leave
b. Do not get into a struggle with thoughts,
just return to focus on the rhythm of your breathing
c. If creative thoughts come to mind – jot them
down. (keep something nearby to jot down or record the creative thoughts)
d. Refocus on your breathing for the time that
you selected.
Purpose of the meditation
1) To create a quiet calm space for yourself
2) This will enable your creative energy and
desires to speak to you – remember the communication is coming from
a. Your inner voice – in other words from the
essence of yourself
b. The Inner voice of Source Emotional Energy
which always seeks to move us toward happiness and our purpose.
3) The most important element is to allow your
self to align you with yourself and with Source.
4) From your alignment you will be free to live
fully and happily.
